Hello Loves,
African print is a cotton based textile designed with vivacious colors, patterns and indigenous symbols. What is commonly known as ‘ African fabric ‘ my lovelies, goes by multitude of names: Dutch print, Dutch wax, veritable dutch. I love the versatility, diversity of african prints, and I also love that they are great highlight and statement pieces. Its undeniable that African fashion, boosted by the trendiness of wax print, has had a more than positive turn in the recent years. The surge of interest in Africa is coupled with a textile revolution of sorts in African countries where young designers and entrepreneurs are extending the use of African print from clothing to shoes, purses, jewelry, iPod covers and more much much more.
The fabric sometimes appear in ready- made form, but the typical practice is to purchase African print cloth by the yard, sketch or select designs from fashion posters and look books and tailor everyday as well as special occasion clothing.
Here are some screen- shots i took of modern African print dresses,blazers….. Which I think you can own like a diva and flaunt like a queen – check them out.
African print outfits are custom fit and express current trends, the Wearers fashion sensibilities and their tailor craftsmanship my lovelies.
Live and love
