How to clean Jewelry at home

Jewelry typically carries quite a bit of special significance to us. In many cases the jewelry may have been a gift to us from a special person, a family heirloom, or just a treat we purchased for ourselves. In these instances the jewelry will naturally have sentimental value in our lives and thus its only natural that we will want to keep it looking its very best and treat it with respect and attention it deserves, right? But most of us are guilty of wearing our jewelry in the shower,to the gym, while cleaning our houses, gardening or preparing dinner. Overtime, those activities, as well as residue from soaps, natural oils from your skin ,airborne contaminants, cleaning solutions, lotions and dirt not only dim the shine and luster of the jewelry but they can also damage the metals and gemstones. Its easy to keep your jewelry looking as shiny as the day you got it my loves. There are a few simple cleansing tips which can drastically improve the condition of your favorite pieces that will make your pieces look amazing and can easily last a lifetime-or even longer.

1,Put a few drops of liquid detergent or Dettol antibacterial skin care hand wash in a bowl of warm water(not hot).Mix gently. Please do not use hot boiling water especially if your jewelry contain fragile precious stones.

2,Soak the jewelry in the solution. Allow the jewelry to sit in water for about 15 minutes. As it soaks, warm soapy water will work its way into the cracks and crevice loosening hard-to-reach buildups of dirt.

3,Squeeze a pea-size amount of toothpaste. (My brushing preference is Aquafresh all in one protection but it works with whatever kind you have).Rub the toothpaste all over the jewelry.

4, Gently scrub the jewelry with a soft bristle brush or toothbrush. Scrub each piece of jewelry, individually, paying special attention to nooks and crannies where dirt maybe hidden. Use a very soft brush-the softer the better.
5, Rinse each piece of water. A good rinsing will help remove lingering dirt that has been loosened by the action of your brush.

6,Then let the jewelry sit out on a towel to air dry completely before wearing it again.

I can’t believe it but these simple household tools and ingredients have restored sparkle to my silver, and gleam to my gold, and thus shine to my precious rings, bracelets, necklaces and earnings.

Jewelry is one of the best luxuries that life has to offer. Fine jewelry will bring years of wearing pleasure with proper care and cleaning my lovelies.
